You bring an interesting point. Windows 8 was a user experience mess. I don't want to see Apple making Microsoft's mistake for the next release of iPadOS.

I hope the design team at Apple finds a way to integrate as much functionality between these two platforms as possible.

I believe iPadOS should be for people who prefer true portability and immense focus in doing one task at hand. Of course macOS can do the same, but I think it would be more suited for people who multitask a lot.
