I use Gmail because I honestly haven't found a better altenative service. I am one of the digital privacy advocates that dislikes Google's practices with our data but again, I have found a better service. Let me know if you know a better service.

About Goodlinks I agree with you. The developer seems to slowly update the app, however, it is the closest app I could use that gives me that Apple-like experience of using a native app. If the developer doesn't update the app, I might switch to Instapaper.
